Your notes stay in your browser. This page explains what is stored, where, and what third-party services the site uses.
Your notes
Notes and checklists are saved in your browser's IndexedDB storage on the device you're using. They are never uploaded to our servers or anyone else's, and we can't see, read or recover them. They stay there until you delete them or clear this site's data in your browser.
Preferences
The site keeps three small preferences in your browser's localStorage, so it opens the way you left it:
- your theme (Night sky, Forest or Desert dusk),
- your writing font, and
- the id of the note you had open last.
These stay on your device and aren't sent anywhere.
Advertising and cookies
OnlyNotepad is free and supported by ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, including ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites, and to measure how ads perform. We never send your notes to advertisers or anyone else.
You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and turn off personalized ads in Google's My Ad Center. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Note that clearing all site data for OnlyNotepad also deletes your notes.
Feature suggestions
The optional Suggest a feature form is hosted by Tally. It only collects what you choose to type and submit, and no note content or other data from this page is sent with it. Tally's own privacy policy applies to what you submit there.
Other services
Like any website, the pages are delivered by a hosting provider (Cloudflare), which processes technical data such as your IP address to serve the site and keep it secure. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser requests them from Google's servers.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
